The Ministry of Health announced on Friday that it will temporarily suspend vaccination of people under 60 with AstraZeneca but after talks on Saturday, health authorities have decided to stop vaccination with AstraZeneca to avoid the need to discard a large number of partially used vaccine bottles.
The next few days were scheduled for AstraZeneca The vaccine has been given to around 700 people over the age of 60, but their assignments to vaccination centers have been postponed because there is no guarantee that the entire contents of the vaccine bottles will be available if only a few people come to the vaccination.
Five cases of blood clots have been reported in women aged 25 to 65 years after vaccination. One person is dead.
An investigation is currently underway to determine whether the exacerbation of these health problems is due to vaccination.
In the Netherlands so far with AstraZeneca approximately 400,000 people have been vaccinated.
