The names and locations of the invaders liquidated as a result of the attack on Engels airfield became known

Information about it placed December 28 on the page of the “Orthodox Trans-Volga” community in the Russian social network “VKontakte”.

The post reports a civil funeral ceremony and memorial service for officers in Engels Church on December 28. The community has also published their names, citing data from the Russian Defense Ministry.

Killed as a result of impact:

  • Andrew Voronov – Guards major, engineer of the aircraft complex of the aircraft engineering service of the aviation squadron of Tu-160 rocket carriers of the guards heavy bomber aviation regiment;
  • Maksim Anufrienko – Guards senior lieutenant, engineer of the aircraft and aircraft engine maintenance group of the aviation squadron aviation engineering service on the Tu-160 of the Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment;
  • Alexander Pampukhin – senior lieutenant of the guard, engineer of the aviation complex of the aviation squadron engineering and aviation service on the Tu-160 of the Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment.
Context:

On the morning of December 5, explosions were heard in Engels, the Saratov region and in Saratov. Russian media reported that a drone crashed at a military airfield in Engels, causing two strategic bombers damaged and wounded two Russian soldiers.

Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation admitted damage to the hulls of two aircraft and blamed Ukraine for the attack. No evidence has been provided to Moscow and Ukrainian authorities have not declared their involvement in the incident.

On the night of December 26 at the strategic airport of Engels explosions were heard again. Russian government agency TAX citing the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the air defense shot down a Ukrainian drone as it approached Engels-2 airport. Three people were killed and four others were injured.

In the office of the President of Ukraine, commenting on the explosions in Russian Engels, they admitted this “there will be many such excesses”. Yury Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said the explosions in Engels were “consequences of Russian aggression” in Ukraine. He added that after the repeated attack on the air base Russia redeployed strategic aviation from Engels.
