For days, photos of Bulgarian cars of Vladimir Putin’s supporters have been circulating on social networks, which clearly support his actions towards Ukraine. They show this by putting the letter Z on their cars, and some even the face of Putin himself. Cars in support of Putin are moving calmly on their native roads, BNT reported.
Western press thunders about Donbass, wondering what the mysterious “Z” sign means on Russian tanks
The police replied that these cars were in violation of several paragraphs and cited the ordinance for registration of road vehicles, Art. 47. It states that cars are allowed to be written only in Bulgarian, with the exception of trademarks.
“Inscriptions and emblems may be duplicated in a foreign language.”
In this case Z is not a letter of the Bulgarian alphabet, nor is a logo preserved.
The ordinance also states that the writing or affixing of inscriptions and / or emblems on the windows and headlights of motor vehicles is also prohibited.
In some of the photos it is clear that the sign is placed on the windows, so this is the second violation.
Such a car cannot pass a technical inspection, and if it is stopped for inspection it is subject to sanctions, police added.
