The Tampa Bay Lightning were defeated by the Florida Panthers in the away game of the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL). The meeting ended with the score 7:1.

In Florida, Carter Verage (9, 46) and Matthew Tkaczak (29, 55) scored goals, Sam Bennett (22), Eetu Luostarinen (38) and Erik Staal (43) also scored. Tampa’s only goal was scored by Nikita Kucherov (24).

Panarin surpassed the achievement of the hockey legend and set a record in the NHL

For the Russian forward “Tampa” Kucherov, the abandoned puck was the 20th this season. His teammate goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky made 42 saves out of 49 shots in this meeting. For the second time in his career, the goalkeeper missed 7 goals in one NHL regular season game, for the first time this happened in January 2020 in a game against the Arizona Coyotes (3: 7). Also, forward Vladislav Namestnikov made two shots on target and had one power reception, defender Mikhail Sergachev scored two block shots.

The Russian Florida goalkeeper Sergey Bobrovsky played the first match after the injury, which he received on January 20 in his debut match against the Montreal Canadiens, and repelled 32 shots out of 33, becoming the third star of the meeting.

This season, Tampa are undefeated by more than four goals. The team suffered the only devastating defeat on January 5 from the Minnesota Wild (5: 1).

As part of Tampa Bay, a record number of Russians perform on a regular basis in the season – four. A similar number of Russians are only in the Washington Capitals, but defenseman Alexander Alekseev does not have a permanent place in the squad.
