The firefighters of the Luxembourg rescue zone intervened 92 times in the province this Sunday, between 3 am and 6.30 pm.
After the Ciara storm, the Dennis storm did not give respite to the many sappers. In total, fifty interventions concerned road clearances, in particular because of trees fallen on the roadways. Just under thirty additional interventions involved threatening objects, cables for example. The rest were in car accidents.
According to the commander of the rescue zone Stéphane Thiry, the north was more affected by the wind, notably the municipalities of Marche-en-Famenne, La Roche-en-Ardenne, Érezée and Hotton. Several roads were notably blocked.
In Chêne-al’Pierre (Manhay), the services also had to intervene for the same reasons.
Even yesterday evening, the winds reached 100 km / h in places. Fortunately, no one was injured and no major damage was noted except for this partially taken off roof on the Vesqueville side.
The Hotton-Soy road closed
At around 8:00 am yesterday, the mayor of Hotton, Jacques Chaplier, announced that the N807 between Hotton and Soy was closed to traffic from the Cemetery of Hotton to the crossroads of Melines.
It remained closed all day Sunday and overnight Sunday to Monday. Deviations have been set up either by the village of Ny or via Hampteau-Werpin-Melines.
