The Montalbán City Council puts taxis for the elderly to go to La Rambla to get vaccinated

The Montalbán City Council has activated a taxi service for people over 80 years old who are being summoned these days to the La Rambla health center to receive the covid-19 vaccine. Since then, the municipal government implemented a taxi service to transport the women who were summoned for the examination to the Montilla hospital, where these diagnostic tests are performed.



Now, the Montalbán City Council puts this resource, which has also been used on other occasions for the displacement of dependent or sick people, at the service of the elderly neighbors who are being summoned in La Rambla to receive the vaccine against covid-19. The item destined to the maintenance of this service, according to Ruz, “will be maintained or more budget will be provided if necessary” to respond to this need that arose as a result of the vaccination process against the pandemic.

The mayor of the town has pointed out that “with this pioneering initiative we try to provide facilities for our elderly to attend health appeals and finally receive their doses”, also trying to “minimize the risks” that the displacement to another municipality. Ruz considers that “in this vaccination process, the administrations must be especially zealous when it comes to protecting the health of this risk group.”
