The new type of coronavirus XES was not found in Belarus, reports the Ministry of Health press service.
“Experts from the Research Institute of Hygiene, Toxicology, Epidemiology, Virology and Microbiology of the Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health are constantly monitoring the emergence of new variants of coronavirus. The country has the necessary laboratory equipment to conduct diagnostic tests on coronaviruses,” the statement says.
This variant of coronavirus was first identified in June in Germany. Cases of XEC have also been reported in Denmark, Great Britain, the USA and other countries.
