The Ministry of Health agrees to offer the first treatment for sugar by means of “the kidneys” and not “the pancreas”

The Ministry of Health and Population agreed to trade in a treatment whose quality will be offered for the first time in the local market, benefiting millions of Egyptians from type 2 diabetes, improves the quality of treatment, reduces the number of therapeutic items the patient deals with, and lowers blood sugar levels across the kidneys, not the pancreas.

Dr. Sherif Hafez, Honorary President of the Egyptian Society of Diabetes and Hemoglobin, said that this drug is an important health breakthrough in the field of diabetes medicines in Egypt, as it provides the foreign patient with the same number of tablets and drugs that he receives, which reduces the cost of treatment, And given the highest possible health efficiency, stressing that the Egyptian patient has been deprived of that important therapeutic experience for a period, and that they are happy to put this drug on the local market.

The honorary president of the Egyptian Society of Diabetes and Hypoglycemia added, at the scientific conference to put the medicine in Egypt today, Friday, that this drug combines two active substances of great importance to diabetics in one capsule, stressing his happiness that this drug is made on the land of Egypt, and that its provision to the Egyptian patient through Just import it from abroad.

He pointed out that studies and research that have been done on the new drug, indicate that it reduces sugar levels through the kidneys, and has nothing to do with the pancreas like other treatments.

For his part, Dr. Fahmy Amara, President of the Egyptian Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Arteriosclerosis, said that this drug is characterized by the presence of the substance “metformin”, which is the substance found in first-line drugs for the treatment of sugar, and the second article is “empagliflozin”, explaining that scientific experiments prove that these The substance reduces sugar in the blood, reduces weight and pressure, and preserves heart functions, as it protects against “heart muscle failure”.

He added, “Amara”, in the “Conference”: “This does not mean that this medicine is a treatment for the heart, but it is a treatment for diabetics with a heart.”

And participated in the scientific conference to release the drug about 500 doctors from leading doctors specializing in the treatment of diabetes, who praised the new drug, stressing that it represents a breakthrough in the field of diabetes medicine treatments in Egypt.
