“At the scene, the police found out that the victim, an ex-soldier, came to hunt with friends, active military personnel. The man was wounded when one of those present fired a shot and hit the victim,” the message says.
Militiamen noted that the gunman was detained, now the suspect is facing imprisonment for 15 years.
Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The hunting rifle from which the shot was fired was confiscated.
According to the publication “Novosti N”, the victim was the former deputy regional military commissar of the Nikolaev region Alexander Acorn, and the fatal shot in the chest was made by the commander of the territorial defense battalion Vasily Rogoza. Previously, he served as a district military commissar in the village of Kazanka, Nikolaev region.
