The members of the FADOQ Network feel neglected

MONTREAL – The older members of the FADOQ Network agree that their home care and medical follow-up have suffered greatly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a survey of 3,004 Network members, 72% of seniors say they have noticed a reduction in their service offer. In addition to this worrying finding, 30% of respondents suffering from chronic illnesses such as asthma, diabetes or heart disease mention the cancellation of their appointments due to the health crisis.

“Maintaining the continuum of home care services is essential for seniors, especially since 23% of respondents who have experienced a reduction in their service offer feel that their state of health has deteriorated. These care and services must resume as soon as possible, “said FADOQ Network President Gisèle Tassé-Goodman in a press release Thursday.

Representing the interests of people aged 50 and over, the FADOQ Network, formerly the Quebec Golden Age Federation, has 535,000 members, making it the most important organization of its kind in Canada.
