The Mayor of Nikolaev responded to the NSDC’s demand to prevent the opening of a Russian supermarket

June 15 Danilov called on the city authorities of Nikolaev prevent the opening of a supermarket in Nikolaev… The NSDC secretary stressed that if local authorities give preferences to Russian business, then measures will be quickly applied to them.

Commenting on Danilov’s statement, Senkevich said that he did not understand how the local authorities could prohibit the work of the store.

“Frankly speaking, when I read this news, I was a little surprised. As far as I understand, our state is moving towards deregulation of business and all economic relations in our country. In this particular case, I do not understand where the mayor and city councilors are in a process called “Opening a store”, – said Alexander Senkevich.

He added that the mayor, together with the city council, “probably will not be able to influence the work of this institution in any way.”

For this, according to the mayor, there are specialized bodies of state executive power, in particular: GASK, prosecutor’s office, tax, State Consumer Service.
