Difficult week start for Éric Piolle, ecologist mayor of Grenoble who appears at the Criminal Court of Valence on Monday and Tuesday.
The jurisdiction of the Drôme suspects that the councilor of Grenoble and the former territorial agents of the city are favored in the award of a public contract. The hearing will examine “the alleged facts of granting unjustified advantages”.
It was following a report by the Regional Chamber of Auditors which highlighted “several significant irregularities”, in the double entrusting of the organization of an annual party to an association, that the prosecution opened a preliminary investigation. Justice suspects the municipality of having awarded this public contract without competition.
The municipal opposition group led by former mayor Alain Carignon has announced that it will open a civil action.
