Instead of 1,000 euros, employees who will work during this confinement period will be able to receive 2000 euros bonus. This was confirmed by the Minister of Economy at BFMTV on Tuesday, a few hours after his colleague at Work, Muriel Pénicaud, said that this possibility “was not yet decided”.
Bruno Le Maire added that this bonus, that all distributors like Leclerc and Carrefour have already decided to pay their employees, may continue to be paid each month until August 31. And even telework employees can benefit from it.
A more flexible system
These 1000 euros correspond to the “Macron premium”, a tax-exempt premium exempt from social charges introduced during the yellow vests crisis. The government had renewed this exceptional device in 2020, but had it with a condition: bonuses could only be paid in companies that have signed a profit-sharing agreement with their unions.

Finally, in the midst of a health crisis, the system was relaxed by removing this condition, so that more employees could touch it. But for its doubling, it will be necessary that the companies which have negotiated beforehand with their employee representatives a bonus of profit-sharing and participation.
