It was probably the biggest shock with “The Masked Singer”. The finale of the costume show went on Tuesday evening, with Stefanie Heinzmann (31) across the stage. While one star per show has been unmasked in the past few weeks, there have been four in the final – including the third-placed dragon. For weeks, the advice team around moderator Ruth Moschner (44), singer Rea Garvey (46) and a changing guest judge (last year’s winner Max Mutzke (38) took place in the final), who could be under the fantasy costume. A name kept coming up and the jury should be right. Singer Gregor Meyle (41) disguised himself as a dragon.

The live broadcast was conducted despite the corona pandemic, but without an audience. From the third episode the show suddenly paused for two weeks at the end of March due to an infection with the virus. Who was infected was never clarified – until now.

“It was a blatant thing”
Sweaty and completely out of breath, Meyle says after the unmasking: «I was the reason that we had to take a break. I had a bit of corona. » The team did not seem to know why the program had to be suspended, because Moschner, Garvey and Mutzke looked very surprised. “It was a blatant thing,” continues the musician. He was just happy that he was allowed to participate in the final. Gregor Meyle is now fine. He thanked the entire team for being considerate and everyone who helped him during the illness. “The best thing was to distract people from the shit,” he clarifies.

But Meyle wasn’t the only one who had to deal with the virus. It was similar to the winner of this season. Fortunately, the sloth aka Tom Beck (42) was not that bad. “I hardly had any symptoms, had a fever for three days, but was also lying flat,” reports the actor. Tom Beck convinced everyone with his changeability. From rap to rock ‘n’ roll, his performances included everything. (bsn)
