“You shall not pass”, is clearly what most gamers are thinking about the new Gollum game from the “Lord of the Rings” world, which has hit UK stores.

It is BBC which reports that the company Daedalic Entertainment has received so many complaints about the game that they are now issuing an apology.

In the action game in question, you play as Gollum, a character from JRR Tolkien’s universe, in a series of missions.

The reviews of the game have been very negative and players have mocked it on social media.

The game is criticized for graphics, technique and stability.

– We are deeply sorry

Especially on Twitter and TikTok, the game is ridiculed for its flaws, while many point out how expensive it is.

Daedalic Entertainment’s public statement says it “deeply regrets” that the game did not live up to expectations.

– We sincerely apologize for the experience many of you have had with “The Lord of the Rings: Gollum” after its release. We acknowledge and deeply apologize that the game did not live up to the expectations we set for ourselves or our dedicated community, they write on Twitter.

This is not the first time this year that a game developer company has had to complain about a PC game.

Finding fault – still expensive

In April earlier this year, Respawn, the developers of “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor”, posted an apology on Twitter for the poor launch performance of the game on PC.

The continuous release of video games with bugs in them has led to a growing debate about whether “gamers” are getting a fair return for their money, according to the BBC.

The British selling price of the Gollum game at first release was 49.99 British pounds, which corresponds to 691 Norwegian kroner.

The release of “The Lord of the Rings: Gollum” comes six years after the previous game, “Middlearth: Shadow of War”.
