Natural fresh blocking post Puncak Cianjur, West Java, intruded by thousands of travelers on the night of Eid al-Fitr. The escape of the travelers from the city isolation was previously thought to be the cause of the booming number of travelers passing through Cianjur.
Monitoring detikcom, since 23.00 WIB, Wednesday (12/5/2021) a surge of travelers has occurred, but officers continue to check and turn the travelers around. At around 01.30 WIB, Thursday (13/4/2021), the volume of vehicles continued to increase and a long line of vehicles from Bogor to Cianjur happened.
Several motorists tried to lower the dividing line, but the officers warned them to stay in line for inspection. But the driver who was impatient then provoked other motorists to break through the barrier until finally thousands of travelers escaped.
The Head of Cianjur Police, AKBP Moch Rifai, said that his party had tried to isolate and inspect, but the volume of incoming vehicles and travelers had exploded.
“We have made efforts to isolate them and appeal to them to return and not continue their journey for homecoming. But there are too many of them,” Rifai said when he was met at the Puncak Alam Fresh Insulation Post.
“So we did not pass, we were still doing the insulation and inspection,” he continued.
Rifai added that there is an increasing number of travelers at the isolation post Cianjur presumably because the travelers in the previous area were already unstoppable. “Most of the travelers came from Jakarta. It is possible that the previous blockages in other areas were unstoppable and some escaped,” he concluded.
