A charisma that transmits confidence and denotes effort within the field of play, this is how the soccer player has been building her career Tatiana Mangandi, who was born 20 years ago in Juayúa, Sonsonate and from there has been growing on the courts to now find himself in Charlotte, North Carolina state, completing the season with the team Charlotte Eagles.

About her career and her beginnings, Tatiana says that she has played soccer since she was 5 years old, her father being the first coach and playing the ball in the soccer schools of her hometown, being the only girl in the group. Already at the age of 14 he went to play ADFA Ahuachapán, being the youngest of the group and beginning to play national tournaments.

Also at that age she was selected under-15, coinciding with other players who have stood out in the national league today, among others. “I have had the opportunity to get to know all of Central America, Colombia, the Dominican Republic,” he says with joy, after having his national team debut in Orlando, Florida.

Regarding the current situation of women’s football, it coincides with the growth it has had. “It has become more competitive, that helps because it gives more priority to women’s football, more support can be received, it is still not good, but thanks to the competition, there is a lot of talent and we hope that there will be more opportunities abroad, since there are players very good “, expresses.

Tatiana has played in the ADFA Ahuachapán, AD Legend’s, Alianza Women and at the University of El Salvador With whom he played both in college football, as in the ADFA San Salvador women’s tournament, as well as in beach soccer; But now he found himself with a unique opportunity, to be able to come to the United States and begin to dream of the opportunity to study and play in that country.

Tatiana relates that in her childhood she was a beneficiary of the non-profit Christian organization, Compassion Internacional, since at that time her family was low-income, “they were always aware of my sports career and also in other areas of my life, as well. I was in sports activities together with professional players from the United States so they decided to contact me through Compassion to give me an opportunity. I was not able to travel in 2020 due to the pandemic, but this year the procedures to materialize this project were resumed, ”he says.

Charlotte Eagles is a team that plays in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the third level of American football, after the pandemic, the 2021 season will only have regional competition and currently the team is the leader with 18 points, the product of six victories and one defeat.

“It is a passionate, united and sincere team, I have loved the relationship with this team, they all support each other, we also have classes in theology, how to occupy sports to be useful and bless other people, to reflect Christ through of sport. We have a gym and I train during the week, we train from Monday to Friday for around two hours, a lot of tactics, a lot of game ideas, I like how they explain participation and there are also motivational talks ”, Mangandi comments on their roster.

After the WPSL season that is about to end, Tatiana returns to El Salvador, to continue complying with requirements and other procedures, in search of the opportunity for a university scholarship in the United States, as well as continuing with the third year of her Bachelor of Science Legal at the UES.

“I stay with discipline, I have learned a lot of things here, about my attitude as a person to be able to put it into practice, if I am given the opportunity to play in the country and share being a blessing, which is the central axis of everything ”, he affirms by way of learning.

And finally he left as a message that “Let’s not stop trying, if for A or B reasons things don’t work out, try again and make an effort, as well as leave everything in the hands of God with a sincere heart. He is in control of our history and we must strive for it, someone will not always come to say that the opportunity comes, you can change the chip from waiting to searching. I think you have to take risks to see results ”.
