The Life and Tragedy of People’s Artist Yulia Borisova

Experiences have left their mark.

People’s Artist Yulia Borisova has played many roles in the theater in her life. Her film career was less successful. Perhaps the most famous work was the appearance in the film “The Idiot” in 1958, where she played Nastasya Filippovna.

In her youth, Yulia Konstantinovna had a luxurious appearance: black hair, piercing eyes, aristocratic features. It is not surprising that the actress was very popular with men. She was idolized by eminent colleagues Vasily Lanovoy and Vladimir Etush. Borisova maintained friendly relations with each of them until her advanced years.

Fate has not always been kind to the actress. She survived the death of her beloved husband Isai Spector back in the mid-70s. Borisova swore that she would remain faithful to him until the end of her days. She never married again.

The tragedy was forever imprinted on the face of the actress. Today, 98-year-old Yulia Konstantinovna is unrecognizable. She became a withered grandmother with an extinct look. The artist is trying to hold on to the last of her strength, but it is impossible to hide the severity of the years she has lived.
