The levels of watercourses in the region are rising

The local Lužice part of Radim is closed, the flood does not allow drivers to pass. The level of the Anenský stream also rises in Bělá. The river Novohradka is only a short distance to the III. degree of flood activity. Lusatian City Hall called on citizens to be careful.

“In Dolní Ředice, at the request of the deputy mayor, a flood wave was announced and the population was warned,” said Vendula Horáková, spokeswoman for the Fire and Rescue Service of the Pardubice Region. The reason is the spill of the Ředický stream from the riverbed.

In Ostřetín, the backbone road I / 35 between Hradec Králové and Vysoké Mýto found itself underwater during the night. By seven o’clock in the morning, firefighters were leaving for twenty events. “It was mainly about pumping water, bagging and removing fallen trees,” Horáková continues.

In the morning, firefighters record further trips in connection with the flooding of rivers and streams, especially in Holicko. “We are pumping water from the flooded cellars of family houses. From the real foundations of logistics, 10,000 bags of sand were transported for the municipalities,” a spokeswoman for the fire brigade added. Firefighters are already placing bags, for example, in Puškinova Street in Holice, where the bridge prevents the flow of water and it spills onto the gardens of adjacent houses.

From Monday 8 am to 1.30 pm, the Operational and Information Center of the Pardubice Region Fire and Rescue Service records a total of 76 events in connection with heavy rain.

Flood preparedness due to heavy rainfall applies to Králicko, Lanškrounsko and Žamberko, flood vigilance for Moravskotřebovsko, Poličsko, Svitavsko and Orlickoústecko. “Due to the previous saturation of the area and the predicted precipitation, we expect the first and second degree of flood activity to be reached on watercourses,” firefighters warn.
