The warnings issued by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute in anticipation of floods are no longer valid, the situation is calming down, but the levels of some rivers are still above the level that indicates flood activity.

On the second stage is Tichá Orlice in Čermna nad Orlicí in the Rychnov region, Novohradka in Úhřetice in the Chrudim region and also two West Bohemian rivers – Úslava in Pilsen-Koterov and Klabava in Nová Hut. The levels of all four rivers are falling. Úslava also reached the third degree of flood on Friday, and dropped to the second at six in the evening. The level is still three times higher than in Koter’s usual. He will probably not get to the first stage until Saturday.


In addition to the four rivers that are in the second stage of floods, according to the CHMI, eleven places in the river are in the first stage of flood activity. Even their levels are no longer rising.

During the storms, the dam broke and water flowed into the reverent area of ​​Ležáky in the Chrudim region. “There are temporary barriers now. The water is already falling slightly, “said the director of the memorial, Kamila Chvojková. According to her, people should postpone their visit to the memorial now.

“The water has made quite a hole in the dam, it is in a state of disrepair. Technical services Chrudim brought temporary barriers and blocked the opening. When the water recedes, we will find out the damage, “said Chvojková. At the memorial, the Ležák stream is flooded relatively regularly. Last year, it also flooded the surrounding area, but according to Chvojková, the consequences are worse this year.

In the Hradec Králové region, it rained the most in the Rychnov region in the Orlické Mountains. Precipitation there exceeded 60 liters of water per square meter. In the Giant Mountains it rained over 50 liters of water per square meter. 36 millimeters of precipitation fell in Hradec Králové.
