On the 5th, prosecutors who are investigating suspicions of embezzlement and misappropriation of SK Networks chairman Shin Shin-won confiscated and searched the offices of SK Holdings, the holding company of SK Group, and the SK Supex Pursuit Council. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office of Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 1 (Director Prosecutor Jun-cheol Jeon) sent prosecutors and investigators to the offices of SK Holdings and SK Supex Pursuit Council in Jongno-gu, Seoul to obtain relevant data. It is known that the prosecution has initiated an additional seizure search to confirm whether there was any involvement at the level of SK Group in the suspicion of Chairman Choi’s appointment.
The prosecution indicted Chairman Shin Shin-won for embezzlement and malpractice under the Weighted Penalty Act for Specific Economic Crimes of KRW 223.5 billion. It is reported that the amount of embezzlement and misappropriation amounted to 584 billion won and 1651 billion won, respectively, in the complaint of Chairman Choi.
