The Last of Us: Part II: Naughty Dog could be planning a PC version

A job posting from Naughty Dog could suggest that The Last of Us: Part 2 won’t just appear on PlayStation.

The Last of Us: Part 2 will be released on May 29 for PlayStation 4, unless it has been postponed like many other major titles in the past few days. A PS5 version to launch the new console is also likely. But could Naughty Dog’s next big hit lose its PlayStation exclusivity? At least that suggests a current job advertisement of the studio. We are looking for a graphics programmer with experience in the PC area who is to increase the rendering team. Applicants are required to have a “thorough understanding of current GPU architectures” such as Nvidia. Experience with DirectX12 and Vulkan is also desired.

That alone does not make any reference to The Last of Us. However, Naughty Dog makes it absolutely clear in the job offer what game staff is looking for: “Join our talented rendering team to develop and implement new and known rendering techniques for our upcoming game, The Last of Us Part II . ” However, it will not be quite clear about a possible PC version, because applicants should have programming experience for consoles OR PCs. This generalizes the knowledge sought, but Naugthy Dog explicitly names the PC.

That can mean a lot, but in the end it may not mean anything. With some PlayStation titles that have recently been announced for PC, the chances that The Last of Us 2 might eventually appear for PC are at least not too bad. You can see the whole job offer in the source link.
