The largest solar farm consists of 155 554 modules with a capacity of 455 W each (total power 70 MW) and covers an area of 100.7 hectares. Until recently, it was used by the Adamów Mine to extract lignite. Now it will contribute to the green transformation of our country.
The farm was established on the initiative of Zygmunt Solorz, and Polsat Plus Group will be one of the recipients of electricity. The power plant was built by the ESOLEO and PAK Serwis consortium for the ZE PAK group. former miners who have been retrained and pursue other renewable energy projects instead of mining coal. The construction itself took 180 days.
– This is one of the largest investments in green energy implemented by private capital in Poland. This is another milestone in the energy transformation of both ZE PAK and the entire Wielkopolska region. We want PAK to generate energy only from renewable sources by 2030 – incl. from the sun, wind and biomass. Soon we are also launching the production of green hydrogen in Konin, which is the fuel of the future – said Piotr Woźny, president of ZE PAK SA.
The solar farm in Brudzewo will noticeably reduce the carbon footprint and contribute to limiting global warming. It is to produce approximately 68,188 MWh of energy annually, which will translate into an annual reduction in CO emissions2 by 56.7 thousand tons.
– Brudzew – once a mine, today green energy production is a real symbol of the Polish energy transformation. Thanks to an investment worth PLN 163.8 million net – built entirely with private money – the reclaimed area has regained its value in use and is an example of how to implement the energy transformation in Poland, including the creation of new jobs for people leaving the mining industry – added Piotr Woźny , President of ZE PAK SA.
The construction of the power plant in Brudzewo includes 306 inverters and over 900 km of cables and optical fibers. The fence of the farm, which is accessed by 16 entrance gates, is 12 km long. The farm is equipped with 31 transformer stations, and the module pallets have been processed into plywood boards that will be used for the production of furniture. It is the first type D power generation module in Poland that has all ION certifications.
– The investment was carried out at a very fast pace – preparatory work began on November 4, 2020, we obtained the final replacement permit for the construction on February 12, 2021, and then we started the assembly of the farm structure. The assembly of the modules lasted from April 12 to August 11 this year. We sent the notification about the completion of construction to the district office on August 19, 2021, and on October 26, 2021, the farm obtained a temporary ION use permit issued by ENERGA-OPERATOR SA, which gives 355 days from the start of preparatory work to obtain the ION certificate – summarized Krzysztof Dziaduszyński, member of the board of ESOLEO and PAK PCE.
