“The Kremlin’s Continued Push for Ukraine Negotiations: Expert Analysis”

The dictator has not abandoned his plans, experts say.

The Kremlin has resumed an information campaign to force Kyiv into negotiations on favorable terms for Russia.

About it says in a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

“On May 26, Moscow announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lulo da Silva, expressed the openness of the Russian side to dialogue on the political and diplomatic track, which is still “blocked” by Ukraine and Western sponsors of Kiev,” says in the report.

The Kremlin is likely trying to amplify its false statements about its willingness to negotiate with Ukraine. This was especially noticeable against the backdrop of the arrival in Moscow on May 26 of China’s Special Representative for Eurasia, Li Hui, to discuss a peaceful settlement of the war through negotiations.

“At the same time, Putin’s statements do not indicate that the Russian Federation is interested in negotiations. The Kremlin has not created any serious grounds for them and has not abandoned its maximalist goals in Ukraine – to force the government to capitulate,” analysts say.

Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky rules out peace talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. According to him, until February 24, the president’s office made many requests to the Kremlin, but there were no answers from there.
