Thiruvananthapuram: The knife used to kill Manorama, a housewife, has been found in Kesavadasapuram. The knife was recovered during the search of evidence at the house where the murder took place with the accused Adam Ali. The knife was recovered from the drain in front of the house where the accused lived. The accused Adam Ali was brought to Manorama’s house in Kesavadasapuram for evidence collection in the morning under heavy security. Knowing that the suspect would be brought for evidence, many locals had gathered. When the police took him out of the vehicle to collect evidence, the locals expressed their anger towards Adam Ali.

Dinaraj’s wife Manorama (68) was killed on Sunday in the day at Kesavadasapuram Mosque Lane Rakshapuri Road, Meenamkunn. The body was found at 10:00 pm during the search conducted following a complaint that they were missing. The dead body was found with stones tied to its feet in the well of a nearby uninhabited house. Manorama and her husband Dinaraj are retired Senior Superintendents in the Department of Collegiate Education.

After the murder, Adam Ali, a native of West Bengal, who lived near Manorama’s house, also went missing. He had come to work on a house under construction near Manorama’s house. Then the four people who were with him were taken into custody by the medical college police and investigation was intensified.

Locals noticed that Manorama was missing on Sunday afternoon. The locals started the investigation after some of the residents informed that they heard an unusual sound from their house. Manorama’s husband Dinaraj had gone to the family home in Varkala on Sunday. Then the locals informed Dinaraj. When the family arrived and searched, it became clear that Rs 50,000 kept inside the house was missing. Then the medical college lodged a complaint with the police.

The body was found after the police and fire rescue team reached the spot and searched. The inspection was conducted after finding the cover of the well of an uninhabited house in a low-lying area near their house was open. At around 10:00 PM, the body was found when the fire brigade conducted a search.

Police say that accused Adam Ali killed Manorama with the intention of stealing. Six Pawans of Manorama have not been found. Police said that it was easy for him to enter the house as he was a familiar person and the accused was addicted to PUBG. He stabbed him in the neck with the knife in his hand. Then gasped. After killing, the body was taken to a nearby well. After that he went to the room and changed his clothes and tried to go home. Meanwhile, the accused was arrested from Chennai.
