In the letter, the King and Řezníček assured that the management of Czech Hockey is fully aware of the seriousness of the situation, as well as the health and economic risks associated with the unfavorable development of the coronavirus epidemic.

However, according to the authors of the letter, professional hockey clubs have complied with all the restrictions on banning spectators and interrupting competitions, even though they mean significant financial losses for admission, advertising and sponsorship. The key requirement for Babiš and Prymula is to enable at least the training of professional hockey players indoors.

Hockey players, forget about training on the ice! Preparation only outside, in limited numbers and without changing rooms and showers

“Without them, players and members of implementation teams performing employee or business activities lost the opportunity to prepare for competition with the best domestic and foreign competition,” said King.

According to his proposal, the trainings would take place with the exclusion of the public and in the strictest hygienic conditions. “The vast majority of players, as well as members of the implementation teams, have already contracted the infection,” the federal president added.

A survey among extra-league clubs showed that 73.3 percent of players and members of the implementation teams of the highest competition have been tested positively since August.

Another blow to Czech sport? The collection limit of six should also apply to athletes

The competitiveness of representations at the international level is also at stake. In other countries, they did not take similar measures as in the Czech Republic, with a few exceptions. At the same time, the International Hockey Federation recently confirmed the holding of the two most important tournaments – the Junior World Championships in December and January 2021 and the World Adult Championships in May.

The management of Czech Hockey therefore asked the National Sports Agency to grant an exemption for the preparation of the junior national team in Litoměřice.

Extra-league clubs will ask Prymula for permission for training and matches

“The preparation would take place in a so-called bubble, because the ice rink with the dormitory, as well as the gym and gymnasium are located in one building, to which no persons other than the camp participants and the necessary staff would have access,” informs the hockey association. participants would be tested and under constant medical supervision during preparation, including all required hygiene measures.

Even for the national team, it is true that at least 80 percent of the participants, players and members of the implementation team have already contracted the infection.
