The installation of dividing pegs on the Ruse-Byala road has begun, Nova TV reported. The aim is to limit incorrect overtaking and thus reduce the number of serious accidents.
Ruse-Byala is one of the most dangerous sections in our country. Accidents are regularly registered there, in which there are many dead and injured.
Turnpikes will be placed on 4 sections, the director of the regional road administration, Stamen Savov, told Nova TV.
Mounting pegs is a working strategy. In 2022, it was implemented in the Kresen gorge at the idea of the then regional minister Grozdan Karadjov. A year later, zero accident victims were reported.
In the Ruse-Byala section, the stakes must be placed by the end of October. Their installation will cost about BGN 50,000. It is planned to install similar barriers on other dangerous sections – for example, Byala-Tarnovo and in Prohoda na republika (Hainboaz).
