The importance of donating plasma as recovered from COVID

According to a report by LaVozdeCataratas, since the beginning of the pandemic, 11 people have donated plasma in Iguazú. Among them, Gabriel Kunzemann, recovered from COVID, donated twice and intends to continue doing so as long as possible. Donating blood plasma can help save a life, especially in times of pandemic and as recovered patients.

Gabriel told this Iguazua media that in mid-October both he and his wife began with symptoms. His wife was swabbed and tested positive: “I lost taste and smell for a month, I had body aches and a little cough.”

Regarding the donation of plasma, he assured that “it is the second time” that he does it and that he does not rule out repeating it if he can. “If it were up to me, I would donate once a week, but it depends on whether the Blood Bank can come.”

Kunzemann, I also take the opportunity to ask people to become aware and take care of themselves. “I had some of the best known symptoms, there are people who had and never realized it but there are other people who were really treated very badly“.
