The creditors of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof approved a restructuring plan on Monday. Now it is clear: the branches in Goslar and Göttingen will remain.

Creditors waive more than 1.3 billion euros
According to trustee Frank Kebekus, if the creditors had rejected the insolvency plan, the consequences would have been catastrophic. The closure of all branches and the termination of all employees was then unavoidable. According to the chief representative Arndt Geiwitz, suppliers, landlords and other creditors are waiving more than 1.3 billion euros by signing the restructuring plan. Nationwide, 47 branches of the department store chain are to close.
