The third generation of the BMW X1 Munich SUV will receive a derived electric version of the iX1 for the first time. The premiere of both cars is scheduled for tomorrow, June 1, but the first official images are already circulating on the Internet. The electric BMW iX1 can be seen on them, but the basic design of both models is the same. In the style of the latest BMW novelties, larger kidneys have been given on the bow, although their area is not as large as, for example, on the new BMW i7.

The graphics of the headlights and taillights are also more modern, and the design generally relies on more dramatic shapes. The roof slopes slightly backwards and, in conjunction with the raised rear, the car looks more dynamic when viewed from the side. The interior features a large curved design in front of the driver, which consists of two parts: a 10.25-inch instrument panel screen and a 10.7-inch infotainment screen. Head-up display will be available on request. The operating system used is the BMW Operating System 8.
The backrests of the rear seats are divided in a ratio of 40:20:40 and the luggage compartment offers a volume of 540 to 1,600 liters. Overall, the interior looks significantly more modern and thoughtful. In addition, BMW will certainly offer a traditionally wide range of additional features for both the interior and exterior of the car. Let’s mention, for example, massage seats, the M Sport leather steering wheel (apparently) with classic buttons or the external sports visual package.

The BMW iX1 relies on the fifth generation eDrive electric drive to offer a 64.7 kWh battery. Even thanks to the low coefficient of aerodynamic resistance of 0.26, the maximum range per charge is estimated at up to 438 km, in the case of WLTP measurements. Thanks to two electric motors, the iX1 system power will be 200 kW (272 hp), while it will be possible to use up to 230 kW (313 hp) in the short term.
It will be possible to charge with alternating current (AC) with a power of 11 kW, on request with a power of up to 22 kW, while charging with direct current (DC) will offer a power of up to 130 kW. Assuming charging on a DC fast charger, it will be possible to get up to 120 kilometers in 10 minutes. When charging at full power, recharging the battery from 10% to 80% takes about 29 minutes.
