The image of PSG still degraded

The announcement on Wednesday of three positive coronavirus cases in its workforce, obviously did not do the business of Paris Saint-Germain. The capital club, which has worked hard to restore its image in recent months, is once again under fire.

Critics of Paris Saint Germain took advantage of the windfall. On Wednesday, when the capital club communicated the detection of three cases of covid-19 in its workforce before the resumption of training, the reactions were quick. The Red and Blue had therefore obtained from the Professional Football League the postponement of his trip to Lens (2nd day League 1) to allow its players to rest after the defeat in the Champions League final on August 23, against the Bayern Munich.

And in return, the players went on vacation, including six or seven in the same place (Ibiza), a priori without succeeding in taking the right measures to protect themselves, and protect others, coronavirus contamination. The Neymar, Angel Di Maria and others did not have the common sense to limit the time spent together during this unique period. And this lack of discernment could cause the new postponement of the match in the lair of the Blood and Gold (September 10), then the reception of theOlympic Marseille three days later at the Parc des Princes (3rd day).

The players at fault, the leaders targeted

The irresponsibility of the players therefore returns like a boomerang in the heads of the leaders, the president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and the sporting director Leonardo at the head. Hadn’t the Brazilian been picked up for restore order in a sometimes capricious workforce, not really concerned with respecting the institution on certain occasions (the clash of Neymar, the false starts of Verratti, the delays of Cavani,…)? The authority of management over the group is therefore once again subject to some questions.

Should they be prevented from going on vacation together?

Have PSG players gone on vacation been called to order by their employer before leaving, concerning the need to protect themselves as much as possible from the risk of contamination? Did they “forget” to do it? In both cases, difficult not to plead guilty, among managers and players. The problem is obviously not to be contaminated, other clubs have passed and will do so, but Shouldn’t we be even more careful and cautious after asking for a match to be postponed? Especially since this approach was, for some, rather questionable. Once again, the reigning French champions find themselves condemned by part of public opinion, showing in this case a real lack of seriousness and professionalism.
