If there has been an ingenious political move in recent years, it was that of the FPÖ, which managed to reassign the ÖVP’s Ibiza issue. In the famous Ibiza video, Heinz-Christian Strache raved about how the republic’s assets were being sold off in the interest of the party and how the FPÖ could be financed through club constructions bypassing the Court of Auditors – and now a separate investigative committee in Parliament is investigating whether and how the ÖVP carried out exactly these practices.
