At the age of 48, the popular Russian singer Yuri Shatunov died suddenly. The cause of death of the frontman of the band Laskovyj Maj was to be a cardiac arrest.
His manager informed about the death of the famous singer on Thursday. “Yuri’s heart stopped in an ambulance last night,” the portal quoted The Moscow Times Shatun’s manager Arkady Kudryashov.
Fans may know Yuri Satunov as the frontman of the band Laskovyj Maj (Friendly May), which sold out stadiums throughout the Soviet Union in the late 1980s. Among the most successful hits are, for example, the song Bielyje Rozy (White Roses) or Sedaja Noč (Gray Night).
According to the manager, the death was sudden and unexpected. Portal EuroWeekly News informed that Shatunov began to have health problems during the holidays with friends, including Kudryashov. They therefore took him to a doctor in the village, because he complained of chest pain.
However, the situation was apparently serious and the doctor called an ambulance to take Satunov to a hospital in a nearby town. However, his heart stopped before he arrived at the medical facility. Although the rescuers immediately began resuscitation, they could no longer help the singer.
In 1992, Satunov began his solo career. However, he never achieved the same success as when he performed with the band Laskovyj Maj. The singer left behind Světlana’s wife and two children.
