The Hammers Not Permanently Jesse Lingard because…

Jakarta

Laga West Ham United Vs Manchester United This week brings up the question of Jesse Lingard, who last season performed well with the Hammers.

Lingard spent the second half of last season on loan with West Ham. He appeared captivating, among others, by immediately scoring two goals on his debut for the Hammers against Aston Villa in February 2021.

That performance has led to speculation that Jesse Lingard will try to sign West Ham on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window. But in the end the England international returned to Manchester United.

Ahead of the duel West Ham vs. MU, Sunday (19/9) tomorrow, David Moyes as West Ham manager also revealed the reason for not making Lingard’s status permanent in the summer.

“No, not really,” Moyes told the Manchester Evening News, when asked what Jesse Lingard rejected the Hammers’ offer.

“At the start of the transfer window, Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) made it clear to me that he wanted to keep the player in question. So I knew from the start that he would stay at Manchester United.”

“I had a private conversation with Ole, who made it clear that he (Lingard) would stay,” he said.

This happened before Man United signed Cristiano Ronaldo. Coupled with the arrival of Jadon Sanco, Jesse Lingard’s chances of playing could be minimal again this season.

With that in mind, Moyes is reluctant to speculate on the future Jesse Lingard at Old Trafford related to the signing of Ronaldo and Sancho.

“He was good for us, but the manager said he wanted to keep him and when that happened I believed in him and that’s how it is now,” said Moyes.
