Monday night surprised (unless you got all the rumors in advance) Microsoft with a sneak peek of the free multiplayer part of Halo Infinite. The mode is free now and will continue to be free.
You can download the multiplayer section on Xbox Series X / S, on Windows and via Steam, and you do not need an Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Gold to access it.

Technically, the multiplayer part is still in a beta test phase, but Monday’s launch is considered the starting shot for the game’s first season, which lasts until May 2022.
