The heirs of the Gucci fashion empire have revealed their position on Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci” and hinted at possible litigation, according to the world’s professional film press leader, The Hollywood Reporter.

“The Gucci family reserves the right to take any (necessary) initiative to protect the name and image of itself and its loved ones,” Italian ANSA on its website.

In a statement widely quoted in the Italian media, the Gucci family claims that Ridley Scott and the film’s producers “did not try to consult with the heirs of the fashion empire” before portraying the Gucci family members as “rude, indifferent and insensitive to the world around them.”

The film has gathered a whole stellar constellation – Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons and even Al Pacino participate in the true crime saga of the troubled years that led to the assassination of Mauricio Gucci. Lady Gaga’s film depicts the “black widow” Patricia Regani, who was convicted of organizing the 1998 murder of ex-husband and fashion empire leader Mauricio Guchi.

The Gucci family especially condemns the fact that Ridley Scott portrayed Regani, played by Lady Gaga, “as a victim.” Namely, they are puzzled that a woman convicted of inciting the murder of her ex-husband was portrayed as “a victim trying to survive in a corporate culture.” In the 70 years that the fashion house was a family business, Gucci once claimed to be an “inclusive company,” citing several senior executives at the company in the 1980s (as shown in the film), including Gucci America, president of global PR and communications. women were members of the board of directors and members of the board of directors of Guccia America.

In fact, this is not the first time the Gucci family has objected to the film. Several months ago, Patricia Gucci, Aldo Gucci’s daughter, condemned Ridley Scott for “stealing family identity for profit, according to her, to increase the income of the Hollywood system.”

Talking to BBC Radio on November 22, Scott rejected the criticism: “I don’t deal with it. You have to remember that one Gucci was murdered and the other went to jail for tax evasion, so you can’t talk to me about making a profit!”

The drama already has a record number of views during the pandemic and is expected to be a contestant during the award season.
