The groom from Bukovina faces a sentence for the “holiday” shooting

The groom “shot” for seven years

Militiamen found on the Internet a video about shooting during the movement of a wedding convoy.

Police in the Chernivtsi region identified and searched a local resident, who started shooting during a wedding celebration. He was found on video on social networks, informs police press service.

“Endangering others, the offender fired automatic weapons near the homes of citizens. The police, with the assistance of the prosecutor’s office, carried out a number of operational-search measures, as a result of which they identified the participants in the offense and conducted searches in them to seize evidence,” the statement says.

In particular, law enforcement officers established that the incident took place on July 25 in the village of Nizhnie Petrivtsi, Chernivtsi region. Driving a BMW X-5, the 27-year-old groom fired several shots from an automatic carbine into the air.

Law enforcers also identified the owner of the weapon – a 33-year-old fellow villager and companion of the groom. In addition to the carbine recorded on the video, the man owns three more rifled weapons.

“For the irresponsible transfer of weapons to another person, his permission to store and use it has been canceled. He will also be held accountable in accordance with Article 190 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses,” it was reported.

The police seized weapons, cars, cartridges, mobile video recording of the shooting and other material evidence from the participants of the wedding celebration. All seized items were sent for examination.

A 27-year-old man was informed of suspicion of committing crimes under part 4 of article 296 (hooliganism) and part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For hooligan actions with the use of firearms and illegal handling of them, the suspect faces up to 7 years in prison.

Recall that a similar case occurred on July 14 near Odessa – there the wedding participants staged a shooting… It was later revealed that among the persons involved in the incident, the police identified several people with Russian citizenship… They face deportation. The shooter was arrested, but was released after depositing 200 thousand hryvnias.
