The Grave Mistake: A Blunder in Forrest Gump

The director made an unfortunate oversight.

The comedy-drama Forrest Gump gained cult status almost immediately after its release. The picture of Robert Zemeckis is still adored all over the world, and the most attentive viewers, meanwhile, find annoying blunders in it.

In one of the scenes, the tombstone of Forrest’s lover, Jenny, is shown. The hero says that she was gone on Saturday morning. But on the tombstone there is a specific date of death – March 22, 1982, and it was Monday, at least in our reality. It is not known why Forrest made such a ridiculous mistake.

It is believed that the date of the burial of Jenny Gump is indicated on the tombstone. Then everything seems to be logical, but this version seems implausible and strained. Russian netizens concluded that only the Americans could disgrace themselves so much with the days of the week.

Hollywood directors often make ridiculous mistakes that do not fit in the head. So, the film “Armageddon” with Bruce Willis became the record holder for the number of blunders – there are over a hundred of them. But this did not prevent the picture from becoming a movie legend, like Forrest Gump.
