The government will decide whether to ease measures against covid-19 next week – ČT24 – Czech Television

If the government eases the measures, all shops, restaurants and service outlets could open next week with restrictions. The night curfew would also end and the possible number of people at mass events would increase.

But politicians and experts have talked in recent days that the epidemic is not slowing as fast as expected. There are big differences between regions – only Prague and the Moravian-Silesian Region have long been in the third degree of PES risk, other regions are worse off.

On Saturday, the Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for YES) reiterated that the government will decide on the basis of the data that it will have on Sunday morning in seven days. Mitigation of the measure is always possible only after seven days, when the score is kept at a lower level. Sunday’s data then showed that the PES remains at 57 points for the seventh day in a row. Even if the government decided to release, the measures would continue to be widespread for the whole country.

On Saturday, there were 2,667 confirmed cases of covid in the Czech Republic, 524 less than a week earlier. It is also the lowest value for the first weekend of October 3.

Not all regions are in the third degree of PES

The point scores of the PES system, on which the dismantling plan is derived, vary considerably from one region to another. The best is with 42 points in Prague, which stays at the lower edge of the middle of the five standby stages. Six regions have a PES index of 57 points, which corresponds to the national value. In the Karlovy Vary region, the index is two points higher and the Olomouc and Pardubice regions reach 62 points. The remaining four regions have 67 points. The limit for descending from the fourth to the third standby stage is 60 points.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 518,649 people have been demonstrably infected with the new coronavirus in the Czech Republic, of which over 183,500 have been since the beginning of November. Approximately 85 percent of them have already recovered, there are currently 68,268 patients.

The daily increases in the number of newly detected cases are gradually declining. In the first week of November, they repeatedly exceeded ten thousand, with a maximum of 15,725 cases on 4 November. This week, the daily average is 4391 confirmed cases. But politicians and experts have talked in recent days that the epidemic is not slowing as fast as expected.

The most now epidemic of coid-19 is affecting Havlíčkův Brod, where in the past seven days they have recorded 651 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. In the Svitavy region, paramedics recorded 440 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last week. In the Chrudim and Kutná Hora regions, this indicator is close to 391 cases.

In most infected people, the disease is mild. According to the latest data, there are 5,087 people with hospitals in hospitals, ie about seven percent of those currently ill.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 8054 people have died with the covid, 49 of them this Saturday. Since the beginning of November, more than 4,500 people have died with proven coronavirus. However, the increase in the number of deaths is also slowing down.
