The government will ask deputies for another 30 days of emergency. On Sunday, there were 1,042 cases of covid – ČT24 – Czech Television

On Sunday, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES) said that the government would ask a member of parliament for a 30-day extension of the state of emergency on Monday. At the same time, he added that some anti-coronavirus measures will have to apply in the Czech Republic by Christmas.

Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Vondráček (YES) expects that the government will deal with the government’s request to extend the state of emergency on Thursday from the morning. “The government will meet on Monday, I assume it will send it to me, and then, as chairman, I will decide that we will start discussing the state of emergency at eight in the morning on Thursday,” Vondráček said. He noted that the meeting had not yet been convened, but that he was certainly counting on it.

Radim Fiala, chairman of the SPD opposition movement’s parliamentary group, said his deputies would not support a 30-day extension. They will come up with an alternative for a maximum of one week, he said. The chairman of the Pirates’ parliamentary group, Jakub Michálek, said that his parliamentary club had yet to consult.

“I think that in this state, when we need a state of emergency as the legal framework for all this, it cannot happen that it does not pass,” Vondráček warned. According to him, the fact that the government is dealing with measures through a state of emergency is a luxury for the opposition, because it is being addressed in the Chamber of Deputies and the opposition has room to comment on it.

Five extraordinary meetings have already been convened in the House for next week, ie meetings convened at the request of a sufficient number of Members. The emergency meeting would be the sixth. During the meetings already convened, the deputies are to approve, for example, the tax package and with it the proposal to abolish the super-gross wage or the draft law on the registration of beneficial owners.

Mandatory tests will also be available from Latvia and Lithuania from Monday

In addition to the announced Germany, Sweden and Cyprus, Lithuania and Latvia will also be red at the so-called travel traffic light from Monday. This means the need for a coronavirus test when returning to the Czech Republic for incoming foreigners.

Until now, these countries have been marked in orange, drawing attention to the medium level of risk, in which only long-term foreign workers have to submit a negative test for covid-19 when traveling to the Czech Republic. Ireland will move from red to this category.

Countries have a medium risk of infection, with a positive test rate of over four percent and less than 250 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 population in the last two weeks. When traveling to the Czech Republic from these countries, only long-term foreign workers, but not commuters, must submit a negative test for covid-19.

Red states are obliged to be tested on the way back to the Czech Republic, foreigners coming to the Czech Republic must also have tests. It is also necessary to fill in the form for the hygiene station. Exceptions are commuters or pupils and students when moving regularly to a certain country.

New cases of covid continue to decline

By Sunday at 6 pm, there were 1,042 cases of covid in the Czech Republic, and last Sunday there were twice as many in the same period. About a quarter of those tested are still infected. This week it was the least, 20 percent, on Monday and the most, 27 percent, on Wednesday. Laboratories performed 16,106 tests on Saturday, and 15,000 more on Friday.

Especially in the last week, according to experts, the spread of the epidemic in the country is slowing down, the number of new positive tests is lower than the week ago more than a week ago.

While maintaining current anti-epidemic measures, the Czech Republic will receive more than 1,000 new cases of coronavirus daily on or about December 14, said former Minister of Health Roman Prymula (for YES). Prymula leans towards testing teachers and children. According to him, the epidemic in the Czech Republic is slowing down, but he would wait another week with the partial opening of schools.

At the same time, the number of coronavirus deaths continues to increase. In the Czech Republic, 6156 people died in whom covid-19 was confirmed. Since the beginning of November, almost 2,500 people have died from the disease, the current record of 250 deaths is from November 3. So far, the ministry has registered 30 deaths on Sunday. However, this information will usually increase with later updates. 7,200 people are now hospitalized.
