Two weeks ago, the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs had reached an agreement on the reduction of players’ salaries because of this coronavirus crisis. These were salary cuts in stages, up to 50% for the biggest salaries, exceeding 100,000 euros monthly.
And theTeam now reveals that this plan has been validated by the government. This is good news for the clubs, since they will be exempt from employers’ charges linked to the 70% of wages earned by players placed on partial unemployment. What to breathe a little in these times of crisis.
