The government has allocated more than 5.04 billion rubles to the regions. for free medicines for patients with coronavirus. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, reported on the website of the Cabinet.

“To allocate from the reserve fund of the Government of the Russian Federation in 2020 to the Ministry of Health of Russia budgetary allocations in the amount of 5,045,405.3 thousand rubles. in order to provide financial support for the procurement of medicines for the treatment of patients with new coronavirus infection, ”the document says.

The government said that we are talking about patients who are treated at home under the supervision of doctors. All necessary drugs will be provided free of charge by prescription. According to the decree, at least 640.5 thousand people will receive medicines.

The decision to provide funds for free treatment of patients was made at a government meeting on October 29. Then Mishustin instructed the heads of the ministries of health and finance to transfer the allocated funds to the regions as quickly as possible so that they would promptly organize the purchase of medicines.
