Solveig Kloppen (50) and Tuva Fellman (34) will be check generals in a new concept at Discovery.

Published:

Two weeks after it became known that Kloppen has ended in TV 2 and reported transition to Discovery, she reveals what she is going to do. Together with Fellman, she will help people who are inexperienced in dating.

– It’s going to be so much fun! I’m looking forward to it, says Kloppen, who has led a bunch of programs, but never made check TV.

– Now it was this who was on the list, she says and laughs.

Kloppen and Fellman assure that the concept differs from other dating programs where participants are transported to more southern areas in search of romance – even though they are also heading abroad – namely South Africa.

– We are looking for people who are not so used to partying and fun, who may have spent their time on other things, such as education or strange interests, and who need help to get started. I know it myself. Just the thought of going out and finding a girlfriend, makes me panic, says Kloppen – who is married and thus escapes.

– Besides, no one is to be voted out.

Fellman has more TV experience in the field, after leading controversial «Nanddate» on the same channel. She is also known from sexual education program «Juntafil» on P3.

– I’m such a big fan of Solveig, so this is really cool. I really believe that this will be nice, says Fellman.

Do not film sex

“Love IRL”, which is the working title of the program, means that 18 single people will be sent to luxury villas in South Africa to flirt and date. Discovery hints that here “participants’ credits can count more than the number of followers on social media”.

«Paradise Hotel» on TV3 and «Ex On the Beach» on Discovery has recently introduced so-called consent rule with a view to sex during recording, to prevent no one from ending up with involuntary sex.

– The consent rule is of course just as strong here as in other productions. We are very happy if someone finds the tone and disappears into a bedroom, but we do not join in, says Kloppen.

– The goal is not as many sexual intercourses as possible, so we do not get close. The goal here is to find love, she says.

Safe environment

Fellman believes that this is exactly what separates their program from much else.

– There should not be a camera in the corner that films everything, she says and adds:

– Some are comfortable having sex the first night, while others need much more time. Man must do not end up having sex either. The most important thing is to be comfortable in the setting.

Both promise care and a safe environment. Fellman highlights Kloppen’s long TV experience of giving others a supportive shoulder.

– We are going to free the participants through something that is quite scary. Solveig is the best at just that, Fellman believes.

– And I think of is very good, says Kloppen to his new partner.

– Look, we already have a little love here! she adds, smiling.

Kloppen has had a bunch of celebrities at home in his kitchen, but Fellman has the benefit of visiting. It is only now that they become properly known.

When Fellman this summer stood up and told that she had removed one breast due to precursors to cancer, Kloppen sent a comforting SMS.

– We did not know each other very well then, but I really appreciated that, says Fellman, who states that she is now fit and well.

– It’s great to work, and I’m so happy for all the support, says the 34-year-old, who is engaged to Radio and TV Celebrity Ronny Brede (35).

Recording starts in the new year and will extend over a month. The lower age limit for applying is 18 years.

– Everyone should join, now it’s the ordinary people’s turn! says Kloppen.

– If I had not been with Ronny, I could have signed up for this, says Fellman.

– Strange to say goodbye

Kloppen is happy with his recent job change.

– It was strange to say goodbye, but when you have been somewhere for 20 years, it’s time to move away from home. For me, it feels very nice and very right, and it gives me a lot of energy. There are so many good people here.

She says that the industry is so small that she meets the same people at work.

– But there are new people at the Christmas table, she laughs.
