Abondanza started his career as a volleyball coach in 1996 at the Big Power Ravenna club in Italy. After that, he served as coach of the Italian national team, coach of the Bulgarian, Canadian and Greek national teams, and was recognized for his leadership by leading world-class teams such as Azerbaijan’s Lavita Baku, Turkey’s Fenerbahce, and Italy’s Zanetti Bergamo.
