The TV program Buitenhof is not going to rectify presenter Natalie Righton’s statements about foreman Thierry Baudet of Forum for Democracy (FvD). The VPRO, which makes Buitenhof together with a few other broadcasters, has announced this.

According to Baudet, “shameful lies” are spread in the program about what he said during a debate in the Lower House. Buitenhof points out in a statement that Righton, former FvD leader Henk Otten, wanted to ask for a reaction about the fuss that arose among some members of the House of Representatives following some statements by Baudet. According to Buitenhof, the choice of words in that question was a correct paraphrasing of both Baudet’s statements (which were also placed in the public debate in the light of earlier statements by him on this subject) and the manner in which these statements were conceived by some members of the House of Representatives. and Minister Hugo de Jonge.
