“I was just sitting at the bar after my Sunday shift when Chris Martin turned up and ordered two beers,” said Chris Parkin, owner of the Stag Inn in the village of Hinton Charterhouse, near Bath.

The popular singer, who went out for a beer with his partner Dakota Johnson, understandably caught the attention of all the guests. “We just had a planned meeting with the fiancé at our place, we were supposed to discuss the wedding. I didn’t want to disturb Martin and his partner in any way,” said the innkeeper, whose 13-year-old son is an enthusiastic piano player.

“Finally, I couldn’t do it and brought my son to meet Martin. They shook hands and it was great. We all started talking, Jeremy and Hannah talked about the wedding and revealed that their first dance would be to a song by Coldplay,” said Parkin.

The singer admitted he was a bit hungover after Glastonbury, but he still sat down at the piano and played part of Sky Full Of The Stars. At the same time, he gave the couple some marriage advice.
