The French Cup and its world teams is this weekend in Rouen

The French Cup, this synchronized figure skating competition, is making a comeback in Rouen (Seine-Maritime). 29 teams representing 8 nations will each present their program to achieve victory on Friday February 3 and 4, 2023. We detail the program for you.

The atmosphere is set to Nathalie Péchalat ice rink from Rouen ! Indeed, it is the return of the synchronized figure skating competition: the French Cup!

After one edition canceled in 2021it was the American teams that won gold in the “Elite 12” and “Junior” categories in 2022. The Finnish team won the gold medal in the “Senior” category.

The final preparations are being organized, while the teams are already starting to train, before the arrival of the thousands of spectators. 120 volunteers are active backstage for the good content of the competition.

We gain strength in stress. Small details, missing badges, photos not on the right badges… It will work out!“, explains Hervé Cheval-Lopez, coordinator at the French Cup.

Before the competition begins on Friday, the teams will take part in a parade on the Place du Vieux-Marché at 6 p.m. on Thursday 2 February. It will then follow at 7:30 p.m. draw the running order of the teams.

Friday, February 3 will be dedicated to short programs with first of all, theofficial training categories from 7:20 a.m. to 1:55 p.m. A flag ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m.

  • Competition Novice Advanced (3:30 p.m. to 4:33 p.m.)
  • Competition Senior Elite 12 – short program (4:55 p.m. to 5:25 p.m.)
  • Podium Novice Advanced (17h35)
  • Competition Junior ISU – short program (8 p.m. to 9:21 p.m.)
  • Competition Senior ISSU – short program (9:40 p.m. to 10:37 p.m.)

Before the flag ceremony (5:40 p.m.), official training will take place from 9:55 a.m. to 3:39 p.m.

  • Competition Senior Elite 12 – free program (6:10 p.m. to 6:42 p.m.)
  • Competition Junior ISU – free program (7 p.m. to 8:58 p.m.)
  • Competition Senior ISSU – free program (9:15 p.m. to 10:31 p.m.)
  • Podium of the 3 categories (10:35 p.m.)
