A study on the effectiveness of the fourth dose of the vaccine was launched at the Sheba Medical Center in December, and 274 hospital staff and volunteers received additional vaccinations.
Preliminary results have shown that both vaccines are safe and increase the amount of antibodies. At the same time, they are only partially effective in protecting against the omicron variant of Covid-19.
The study’s leader, Professor Gili Regev-Johai, emphasized that both vaccines were very effective against other variants of the coronavirus.
CONTEXT:
Israel was one of the first countries to offer a revaccination of the population against Covid-19. More than 537 thousand people have already received the fourth pot.
