The 25-year-old attacking midfielder, without a club for next season, will train for the next two weeks with Zulte Waregem, Essevee announced on Monday.
“Charly Musonda Jr. did his first training session with the Essevee. With the permission of the club, he will be present with the group for two weeks in order to maintain his physical condition,” the SVZW tweeted. With Musonda’s contract at Chelsea coming to an end on June 30, the former Belgian footballing hopeful is now looking for a new base.
Considered one of the greatest Belgian talents of his generation, Musonda left Anderlecht at the age of 15 for the Blues. He has in turn been loaned to Betis Sevilla, Celtic and Vitesse. At the latter club, he suffered a serious knee injury that put his career at risk. He was able to play again two years later, last September.
