Both Guangzhou and Suzhou submitted proposals to the Chinese Football Association to host the 2021 Super League. Among them, the Chinese Super League only has two cities, Suzhou and Guangzhou.
From January 14th to 15th, members of the Chinese Football Association and the Preparatory Committee of the Professional League arrived in Guangzhou for inspection. In the original plan of the Guangzhou Football Association, Tianhe Stadium, Yuexiushan Stadium, Olympic Sports Center, and Huadu Stadium are the four main stadiums of 3+1. After a field investigation by the Chinese Football Association, the lighting renovation of the Olympic Sports Center may involve a relatively large project. It should be said that the overall hardware conditions for Guangzhou to host the Super League are not big, and the Guangzhou Municipal Government has also approved the bid plan reported by the Guangzhou Football Association. Guangzhou Evergrande and Guangzhou R&F are planning to contribute their own funds to help the Guangzhou Football Association complete the preparations for the competition area and part of the venue renovation.
